As Vice President Labor Relations, Adam is responsible for oversight of the Labor Relations department, working with the numerous labor organizations that support and represent the
Southwest Airlines Employees. At a Company where 82 percent of the Employees are represented by a Union, the Labor Relations department strives to maintain collective bargaining agreements that take care of our Employees, our Company, and our Shareholders. Since October 2022, Adam and his Team have ratified contracts for eight of Southwest’s 12 union-represented workgroups.
Adam joined Southwest on December 31, 2007, and during his tenure has held numerous positions, spanning from roles in Financial Planning & Analysis, Inflight Operations, and Labor Relations. While in Financial Planning and Analysis, Adam was responsible for budgeting and forecasting for the Air Operations organization, comprised of Flight Ops, Inflight, and Dispatch. During this time, he also sat on multiple negotiating committees, managing the economic modeling responsibilities for the Company. Having an affinity for the Operation, Adam made the move to Inflight Operations, serving as the Director of Planning and Onboard Experience. After a period in Inflight, he transitioned to Labor Relations as Sr. Director, Lead Negotiator. After 5 years in this role, and having negotiated with every major Union on property, Adam was promoted to his current role.
Adam holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Baylor University. He and his wife have a horse, Whiskey, and dogs, Barley and Baxter. In his free time, Adam enjoys traveling to South Carolina or the mountains in Colorado, listening to live music, and enjoying a round of golf.
