Celebrating Public Arts in Southfield!
The City of Southfield has embarked upon an ambitious new public arts campaign to install a multitude of exciting new and recently refurbished public art installations throughout the community. The Southfield Arts Commission was established in 2015 to advise the City Council on matters affecting public art in the city with the goal to create a stimulating environment that reflects and enhances the City’s heritage, diversity, and character through public artworks integrated in the architecture, infrastructure and landscape. Thanks to the Friends of Southfield Public Arts, a recognized 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, no tax dollars have been used for the art acquisitions, restoration and installation of the works.
The City of Southfield’s elected officials and administration always keep residents and their needs at the center of the decision-making process with a keen focus on every tax dollar spent.
