The City of Raleigh partnered with Civic Genius at the National Civic League to convene a civic assembly, bringing together a representative group of residents to develop recommendations for the city’s long-term growth. After three months of deliberation, participants produced more than two dozen proposals, all of which were unanimously received by the City Council. On July 28th, New America, Civic Genius, and the City of Raleigh hosted a virtual discussion reflecting on the assembly process and its impact. The conversation featured city leaders, Civic Genius Director Jillian Youngblood, and an assembly participant.
