Promising Practices Webinar: Tackling Tough Issues Through Citizen Panels

January 19, 2023: Lottery-selected panels, often called citizens’ juries or citizens’ assemblies, are democratic systems that help governments tackle difficult policy questions by putting a representative group of residents at the center of governance. In this webinar, Healthy Democracy introduced the democratic system of lottery-selected panels, discussing the benefits and potential applications. Attendees also heard about two case studies out of Petaluma, California and Eugene, Oregon.
