A former mayor, current councilmember, DEI expert, and local government researcher were elected to the National Civic League’s board of directors at its last regular meeting. Maia Cole, Assistant Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Continental Division of HCA Healthcare; Hon. Johnny DuPree, Former Mayor, Hattiesburg, MS; Dr. Joshua Franzel, Managing Director, MissionSquare Research Institute; and Jamie Torres, Councilwoman, District 3, Denver, CO were each elected to a three-year term.
The National Civic League board of directors is made up of 22 civic leaders from around the U.S. and meets three times each year to help lead the 125-year-old organization.
