The National Civic League has forged a partnership with United Way Worldwide to work together toward the betterment of local communities.
The League will work with United Way to spread the use of our civic tools and knowledge base in communities served by the organization. Of particular interest to United Way is our Civic Index, which United Way agencies may use to improve local collaboration on important issues like financial stability, education and health.
United Way is nearly the same age as the League, 125 years old, and has a mission to
improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities around the world to advance the common good.
The organization is active in nearly 1,800 communities across more than 40 countries and territories. Nonprofit organizations, of course, have always played an important role in the well-being of community residents, and United Way has been an integral part of this work. The organization serves approximately 61 million people annually, using nearly 3 million volunteers.
We look forward to working with the United Way to create better connections among local governments, residents, nonprofit organizations and other stakeholders to help communities thrive.
