All-America Cities is 70 Years Old!

This is the 70th Anniversary of the All-America City Awards, founded in 1949 by George Gallup and others, who saw the value of replicating the “All-America” football team with a set of All-America Cities.

This year’s All-America City awards will include a one-day conference, during which we will highlight the successes of the 537 communities named as All-America Cities during the past 69 years. To celebrate the Award’s 70th anniversary and continue recognizing the great work of past All-America Cities, the National Civic League has created a Hall of Fame Award to recognize an outstanding civic engagement initiative in the community since winning the All-America City Award.

All applicants will be invited to attend the 2019 All-America City Conference and Award Event in Denver, Colorado, June 21-23. Winners will be invited to present their projects during workshops at the conference, will be featured in the League’s Promising Practices Database and potentially in the National Civic Review
