Join us for the 2017 All-America City Awards:
In partnership with the Grade-Level Reading Campaign, National Civic League will be hosting a gathering in Denver, Colorado on June 14-16, 2017. If you haven’t registered yet, please be sure to register before we reach capacity.
Here’s a quick overview of some of the activities and the agenda that we have planned:
Opening Reception – We’re kicking off the event with a celebration to recognize and thank our 48 Pacesetter communities. You’ll have an opportunity to meet and connect with colleagues across the country who collectively are setting the pace for the GLR Campaign.
Taking a Deep Dive – On Thursday, June 15, you’ll have an opportunity to attend four plenary sessions and choose from 27 concurrent sessions focused on how to move the needle and close the gap for low-income children on school readiness, school attendance, summer learning and/or grade-level reading. Whether you’re just getting started or you’re exploring strategies for scaling and sustaining your long-standing work, you will find the content and connections in these sessions beneficial. A preliminary draft of the agenda is available here.
Celebrating the Best of the Best – Friday, June 16, begins with the Communications Expo featuring the products and resources developed by local campaigns for messaging and mobilizing their communities around grade-level reading. This is an unparalleled opportunity to exchange ideas and share tools developed by other communities. Our event will end with the presentation of the All-America City Awards, where you will have a chance to join us in recognizing those communities that have taken action and made the most measurable progress for low-income children.
