Common Cause President Bob Edgar Dies at 69

Our thoughts are with the friends, family and colleagues of Bob Edgar, who passed away yesterday. Bob served in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 1970s and 1980s. Running unsuccessfully for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania in 1986, Bob became concerned about the influence of money in American politics. He served on the board of Common Cause for several years before becoming president and CEO. He was also a leader in the National Council of Churches and other organizations.
