Report from Scott County, Kansas

The excitement is building here in Scott County!!!! Our community has come through yet again in building support for the All-America City Finalist awards presentation by our community members. We are proud to announce that through local government, businesses, and non-profit organizations, Scott County has met our fund raising goal to send our delegation to Kansas City! This has only added to the momentum that the community has built, as well as a sense of pride in being selected as an All America City finalist.

Just last week the Jerry Thomas Art Gallery opened in Scott County. This addition to our community will help keep alive many of the stories of Native Americans and the Wild West here in our region. The event was attended by people from all across Kansas and the Midwest area.

At every community event there is excitement and discussion about who is going to be part of the delegation and who is helping develop the presentation. Our volunteers have been working tirelessly to develop our presentation and begin to make arrangements for the “SC to KC Caravan 2010.”

It has been a full community effort to get to the point where we are today. The finish line is a long way away, but many know it will be here sooner than we think.
