This program is aimed at assisting college students in conducting research on public affairs and provides a small mini-grant for costs associated with this research. The program is named for Carl H. Pforzheimer Jr., who served on the board of the National Civic League for many years and was a banker, civic leader and philanthropist in New York City. The Carl and Lily Pforzheimer Foundation funds the annual program under the leadership of Carl H. Pforzheimer III.
Available funding for each mini-grant is $250.00.
To be eligible, students may be enrolled in any public or private college or university and in either an undergraduate or graduate program.
The deadline for the next round of mini-grants is February 28, 2022. Decisions and notification of applicants will be made by March 15, 2022.
To apply please submit a description of your research, no more than 500 words, and a brief biography about yourself, no more than 200 words. Please also indicate how the funding would be used. Applications can be emailed to Doug Linkhart, League President, at DougL@NCL.org.
We ask that you provide a report to us within one year of this grant on the results or progress of your research. We often use these reports in articles about student projects in our national journal and newsletter.
